Explanation of settings and how they affect your annotation and labels …

  1. Room ID check box: when ticked, adds your ID to the annotation label.
  2. Purpose combo box: offers a choice of pre-defined Purpose values.
  3. Purpose check box: when ticked, adds your purpose to the annotation label.
  4. Area Type combo box: offers a choice of pre-defined Area Type values.
  5. Area Type check box: when ticked, adds your Area Type to the annotation label.
  6. Area check box: when ticked, adds the shape's area measurement to the annotation label
  7. Alt Area check box: when ticked, adds the shape's alternative area measurement to the annotation label
  8. Alt Area combo box: offers a choice of metrics that differ from your DGN model's working units. You can elect, for example, to show an area both in your DGN model master units (e.g. foot²) and another metric (e.g. m²)
  9. Perimeter check box:
  10. Alt Perimeter check box: when ticked, adds the element's perimeter to the annotation label using alternative metrics.
  11. Alt Perimeter combo box: offers a choice of metrics that differ from your DGN model's working units.
  12. Justification combo box: offers a choice of text justification used when formatting labels.
  13. Accuracy combo box: lets you choose the number of digits after the decimal separator.
  14. Auto Increment check box: causes AreaAnnotator to increment your ID. For example, after you place a label showing ID Room 101, the next label you place will show ID Room 102
  15. Auto Label check box: when ticked, enables automatic labelling of tagged areas.
  16. Add Prefix check box: when ticked, adds a prefix to text labels (e.g. Area 10 m² instead of 10 m²).
  17. Use Label Template check box: when ticked, uses a template cell to create a label; otherwise, creates a text node as a label.
  18. Label Template combo box: combo box: offers a choice of label template cells.
  19. Labels are View Independent check box: when ticked, labels are view-independent
  20. Use Active Text Style check box: when ticked, labels are created using the active text style rather than the style specified by Annotator.
